7 May 1849, Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines: Marriage of Jacques Roth, weaver, age 30, born here 4 April 1819, son of married couple Jean Roth, weaver age 66, and Elizabeth Redelsperger, no profession, age 64, his wife, living in this town, and Frederique Scheld, without profession, age 35 years eight months, born in this town 4 July 1813, daughter of married couple Phillipe Jacques Scheld, stonemason, who died in this town 4 September 1841, and Catherine Marguerite Benoit, who died in this town 4 September 1841, paternal granddaughter of married couple Jean Jacques Scheld and Anne Marguerite Stahl and maternal granddaughter of married couple Jean Benoit and Sophie Habermann. Witnesses include Jean Roth, weaver age 34, brother of the groom, and Jacques (signed Jacob) Minder, weaver age 30, brother in law of the groom.
