Johannes Roth and Marie Elisabeth Redelsberger Marriage 1811

June 6, 1811, Sainte-Croix-aux-Mines: Marriage of Jean Roth, age 29, harvester and weaver of this place, and born in La-Croix-aux-Mines 17 January 1782, son of age of Nicholas Roth, weaver of La-Croix-aux-Mines and the late Elisabeth Berse, his wife. The two parents presented a certificate of birth to seven witnesses different than the parents issued by a judge of the peace of the Canton of Fraize with date 22 Dec 1809. They state their religion is Anabaptist and they wish a civil ceremony.
And Marie Elisabeth Redelsperger, age 24, resident of this town and born 2 May 1787, daughter of Henry Redelsperger and Magdelaine Krieger, his wife, farmers.
Witnesses: Jean Berger, age 44, Francois Villemiu, age 47, both foresters, Jacques Redelsperger, age 28, brother of the bride, and Jean Joseph Reissle, age 43, innkeeper of Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines.
Participant, parent, and witness signatures are all German: Jean=Johannes, etc.
