Notes |
- Daniel stayed in the Kishacoquillas Valley and carried on the tradition of his grandfather "Strong Jacob" Yoder's strength. Much is made of the claim that "Gros Dan" single-handedly placed a huge stone in the barn wall that is still in a good state of repair. An account that is related concerning the barn raising is as follows: He was on his way home from Goodman's still house with his buggy and team loaded with a barrel of refreshments for the barn-raising: the harness broke; Dan immediately hoisted the barrel on his shoulders, pulled the buggy and drove the horses the rest of the way home.
