Aug. 5, 1818, d. July 23, 1891, the eldest son of Jacob Miller and his first wife, whose maiden name was Keim, his second wife being Fanny Hershberger of family 1424. Mar. 13, 1775, in Berks Co., Pa., and d. between Apr. 15, 1843, the date of his will, and Apr. 26, 1843, the date of its filing. He m. (1) Madlena Yoder who was b. Feb. 13, 1780, the dau. of Christian Yoder and Madlena Troyer. See note to fam. 3695. Amish church. He resided in Heidelberg Tp., Berks Co., Pa., till about 1806, when his name last appears on the tax lists of this township. In 1810, he bought from Joseph Root fifty acres in Fermanagh Tp., Mifflin Co., Pa., near McAlisterville. This land was part of the farm which William McAlister gave by will, in 1847, to his sons Robert and George Washington McAlister. One of these farms is now owned by Mrs. Sarah Lloyd, Oakland Mills, Pa., a granddaughter of Wil liam McAlister, and the other is owned by Solomon Kauffman. The inventory of Joseph Hostetler's estate was filed Aug. 24, 1812. He m. (1) Anna Blank, dau. of Hans Blank who arrived at Philadelphia, Pa., Oct. 4, 1751, on ship Queen of Denmark. Hertzler Gen. His children are Madiena of fam. 7543; Marie, of fam. 7335; Abraham, 1782 — .Jonathan Miller, the son of Christian Miller, known as Schmidt Miller, from his trade as a blacksmith. Christian Miller was an orphan and had two brothers. He was raised by an Amish family. His children: Henry, May 10. 1785 — , see fam. 9132, note; Elizabeth, m. His will was dated Mar. 15, 1805, and was registered Apr. 15, 1805. He moved from Berks to Somerset Co. about Dec., 1784. He m. (1) Catherine Hertzler, who. d. after 1797, the dau. of Jacob Hertzler. Amish church, and there is some reason for believing he was a minister in that church.
