Said in his death record to be a native of Aubure (Altweier, Altwihr), but the only records of Roths there are the birth of son Andre and the death of wife Anne Müller, in 1793/4.

Died:
Altwihr is also Altweier in German and Aubure, today, in French. Altwihr is from a dialect of German spoken in Switzerland, southern Germany, and Alsace, France. It has its own wikipedia site.

Nicolas married Anne Müller on 21 Aug 1797 in La-Croix-Aux-Mines, Vosges, France. Anne (daughter of Christian Müller and Marie Adam) was born in 1764 in Urbeis, Bas-Rhin, France; died on 24 Jun 1814 in La-Croix-Aux-Mines, Vosges, France. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Her name is spelled Miller, Meunier, or Müller in various places, the English, French, and German words for the same occupation.

Birth:
Parents marriage is recorded in Urbeis in 1763. Searched Urbeis birth records from 1760-1780 with no birth records for Christian Müller and Maria Adam, not an Anne or anyone else. There are some Anabaptist births recorded, but not many. No sign of her in the records of Ville, 1763-1765, either.

Christian Müller is a witness to the death of Johann Wally 2 September 1765. The record (and others like it) says the deceased lived in the Anabaptist community of Winterberg.
